Brenda and Jesse Jones are two businesspersons who are dedicated to Estherville and the Lakes Region. Actually, Brenda grew up in Estherville. As a matter of fact, they moved out of this area to Arizona a few years back, only to return because they love this part of the country and wanted to raise their boys, Braxton and Teegan, here.
Jesse had worked in the Lakes Region for seven years as a plumbing, heating, and cooling technician. Jesse's father, also, was in the plumbing, heating, and cooling business, so following in dad's footsteps seemed like the logical thing to do. Jesse and Brenda agreed that Estherville was the place to set up shop.
Comfortec's history shows humble beginnings. When it was established in 2004, Comfortec was located in the basement of Brenda and Jesse's home. Brenda left her teaching job in Graettinger to manage the office and accounts. Jesse served as the company's only technician. They had no computers, so Brenda recorded everything by hand in a notebook. Starting out so humbly did not discourage Jesse and Brenda. They knew that if they believed in each other, their dream, and the community, and were sincere about doing the right thing, their business would flourish.
And flourish it has. Demand for Jesse's services increased rapidly, and through a series of events Brenda and Jesse call "growing pains" Comfortec quickly grew from one employee to four, and then to the current fifteen. They have moved the business from their basement into two efficient offices. Their initial office in Estherville (the first building west of Fareway) was opened first. A short time later, they opened a second office. That one is located just across Highway 9/71 south of Pure Fishing. Recently they moved their Estherville operations to 1724 Central Ave (the first building west of Hardees).
Brenda and Jesse are constantly reviewing and revising their business plan. As business expands they find that they spend a lot of time keeping all of their technicians educated and updated. They are quick to acknowledge that the quality and dedication of their employees makes their business the success that it is.
They are proud to be a part of the Estherville and Spirit Lake business communities. As Brenda recently said, "We are thankful each and every day when the phone rings and people request service. It is a high honor when people trust you to provide services in their homes."
